When to convert AVIF to JPG
Use this when you downloaded a picture from a modern site and Photo Viewer, an old Office build, or an email client shrugs. AVIF is the format many CDNs now emit because it is small. That does not help the person who has to attach it to a ticket or open it in a 2018 app. JPG is still the file that almost everything can open.
Current Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge can decode still AVIF natively, then this page re-encodes to JPG. You do not send the file to us. There is no account and no watermark. Animated AVIF (the AVIS brand) is not supported — export a still frame first.
Leave output on JPG and quality near 0.9. If the AVIF had transparency (a UI graphic), JPG will fill those areas with white. In that case use AVIF to PNG instead. For a website that already displays AVIF correctly, do not convert your live assets to JPG; convert a copy for the person who cannot open it.
Batch drop is fine. Download each JPG or a zip. After you have a boring JPG you can resize, compress, or put it in a PDF with JPG to PDF on ❤️ LoveThisPDF. This site does not become a PDF product.
If decode fails, the browser is too old for AVIF. Try a current Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. We do not upload the file to “fix” it on a server.
